I use this Teflon tape to work on water and air lines around the home. I have used it to hook up my ice makers, dishwasher and basically anything with a NPT (National Pipe Taper) thread and fitting. This type of tape is recommended only for pipe sizes up to 3/8 of an inch.This product should not be used on natural gas lines or larger pipe sizes. There are different types of Teflon tape and this is defined as single density tape. Double density tape is thicker and colored yellow. You should still check your local codes to make sure that the inspector will let you use the yellow tape on gas lines as local codes can very. I have used this white tape on many water an air hose projects like on my compressor without any issues or leaks. It is a good product as long as you only use it for its intended applications.
